The DTV Innovations Chimera-RM is a compact professional MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC video encoder designed for ATSC disaster recovery, outside broadcasting, live IP streaming and DSNG applications. Its half-rack-width design allows two units to be installed side by side in 1 RU using the optional rack-mount kit.

Chimera-RM accepts HD-SDI, HDMI and DVB-ASI inputs and provides ASI and MPEG transport stream over IP outputs with SMPTE 2022 FEC. It supports SD and HD video up to 1080p30, RTMP and DASH/HTML5 streaming, integrated EAS and static PSIP as standard, with optional dynamic PSIP, AAC audio, recording, decoding and transcoding licenses.

An optional DVB-S, DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X satellite modulator adds L-Band and IF-Band RF outputs, DVB-CID compliance and BISS encryption. Chimera-RM can simultaneously support professional video encoding, IP streaming and satellite transmission in a compact platform suited for fly-away, mobile and fixed-station broadcast systems.
