The DTV Innovations Falcon HMR Series includes the HMR5440 and HMR5442 professional integrated receiver/decoders for broadcast contribution and distribution. These compact, rugged IRDs support SD and HD video, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 decoding, multiple input interfaces and BISS content protection.

Both models support DVB-ASI input with optional DVB-S/S2 satellite and MPEG transport stream over IP interfaces. Available outputs include SDI, HD-SDI, analog composite, component video and embedded or discrete audio. Front-panel controls, an embedded web interface and RS-232 provide flexible local and remote management.

The Falcon HMR5440 provides video resolution and aspect-ratio conversion, including HD-to-SD and SD-to-HD processing. The advanced HMR5442 adds MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 4:2:2 decoding, 10-bit MPEG-4 4:2:2 support, 1080p50/60 3G-HD-SDI and HDMI outputs, and AAC audio decoding.
