Peak PBD(Ka) Series Remote Mounted Ka-Band Block Down Converters
The Peak Communications PBD(Ka) Series is a family of single-range remote mounted Ka-Band Block Down Converters (BDCs) designed for professional satellite earth stations, HTS gateways, teleports, telemetry systems, and government SATCOM applications. Compatible with a wide range of L-Band satellite modems and frequency converters, the PBD(Ka) Series converts Ka-Band RF signals into 950–1950 MHz L-Band outputs, providing reliable outdoor frequency conversion for commercial Ka-Band networks and ground test facilities.
Built for demanding outdoor environments, the PBD(Ka) Series utilizes externally phase-locked dielectric resonator oscillators (XPDROs) to deliver exceptional frequency stability, low phase noise, and excellent RF performance. Standard features include automatic 10 MHz external reference locking, integrated 1+1 and 2+1 CANBUS® redundancy control, Ethernet with embedded web server, SNMP network management, rugged IP66 weatherproof construction, and optional electronic L-Band attenuation, making the series ideal for fixed, transportable, and gateway satellite communication systems.
