The Datum Systems PSM-500 is a versatile 70/140 MHz IF satellite modem designed for bandwidth-efficient SCPC communications. Supporting continuous transmit and receive operation, the modem is suitable for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, mesh, multicast and unidirectional satellite networks.

The PSM-500 provides data rates from 1.2 kbps to 29.52 Mbps with advanced FlexLDPC forward error correction, multiple block sizes and granular code-rate selection. Optional TPC, Viterbi, Trellis and Reed-Solomon coding provide compatibility with a wide variety of existing satellite networks.

Flexible Ethernet, advanced IP, serial, HSSI and dual G.703/E1 interfaces support cellular backhaul, enterprise networks, E1 trunking and on-the-move communications. The PSM-500 is also backward compatible with the legacy Datum PSM-4900 modem series.
