The Datum Systems M7 and M7L are compact, modular satellite modems engineered for bandwidth-efficient SCPC communications. The M7 operates across the 50–180 MHz IF frequency range, while the M7L supports 950–2150 MHz L-band, providing flexible configurations for satellite hubs and remote terminals.

Both modems support data rates from 1.2 kbps to 59.04 Mbps, advanced FlexLDPC coding, Adaptive Coding and Modulation and carrier roll-off factors as low as 5%. Datum’s patented Smart Carrier Cancelling technology allows two similar carriers to occupy the same transponder spectrum, providing approximately 50% bandwidth savings.

The half-rack 1RU platform allows two modems to be mounted side by side in a single rack space. Available Ethernet, managed IP, serial, HSSI and dual G.703/E1 interfaces support cellular backhaul, enterprise networks, E1 trunking and on-the-move satellite communications.
