Comtech CRS-500 1:N Modem Redundancy System
The Comtech CRS-500 is a modular 1:N satellite modem redundancy system for hub and gateway applications. It provides automatic or manual protection for up to ten traffic modems using one bridge-mode hot-standby modem. The system continuously monitors modem status, configures the standby modem to match a failed unit and switches traffic in approximately 500 ms.
Redundancy Configuration: Up to 1:10
Operating Modes: Automatic or manual
Switching Time: 500 ms for bridged backup
Architecture: Control Switch Unit, Data Switch Unit and optional IF Switch Units
Management: Front panel, Ethernet, serial, HTTP and SNMP
Compatible Modems: CDM-625/625A, CDM-750 and CDM-760 with supported interfaces
Applications: Satellite hubs, gateways, broadcast networks, telecom infrastructure and mission-critical SATCOM systems
