Terrasat IBUC TX 1:2 Redundant System
Intelligent Transmit 1:2 Redundancy System for C, X, Ku & Ka-Band IBUCs
The Terrasat IBUC TX 1:2 Redundant System is an integrated antenna-mount transmit redundancy platform designed to protect mission-critical SATCOM uplinks. The 1:2 configuration allows two active transmit chains with one shared spare, maximizing uptime while optimizing cost and energy efficiency.
Supporting C-Band, X-Band, Ku-Band, and Ka-Band IBUCs, this system continuously monitors all IBUCs and automatically initiates switch-over when alarms are triggered. The integrated Intelligent Switch Controller Interface manages waveguide switching, L-band routing, reference detection, and alarm handling.

The IBUC TX 1:2 Advantage
Redundant internal 10 MHz reference available
Hot Standby Mode
Eco-Mode for warm standby (reduces amplifier power consumption)
User-configurable alarm thresholds
Factory pre-assembled for easy installation
Independent from LNB switching
Higher MTBF for SATCOM systems
Weatherized RJ45 Ethernet interface
Additional RJ45 port for Rx LNB integration
Ultimate Management & Control:
RS232 serial ports
Local web interface integrating all 3 IBUCs in one browser display
Intelligent Controller Interface monitors alarms & initiates automatic switch-over
How the 1:2 Architecture Works
Two primary IBUCs operate normally
One spare IBUC remains in standby
Intelligent interface module monitors:
IF input paths
10 MHz reference
Amplifier alarms
Upon alarm detection:
Waveguide (WG) switches are actuated
Spare IBUC is routed to failed path
Automatic switchover occurs
Result:
A compact, integrated 1:2 redundancy platform without external rack-based controllers.
Monitor & Control
Interfaces:
Ethernet (RJ-45 J8 & J10)
RS232 (PT02E-14-19S connector)
AUX Ethernet
Circular user interface connector
Alarm Relays:
Summary Alarm Form-C Relays (A, B, C)
LED Indicators:
2 Power supplies
A, B, C Alarm
Ethernet activity (A, B, C side)
A, B, C online status
WG Switch Control:
Intelligent Interface Module controls all WG switching
Typical Applications
Teleport gateways
Government networks
Air Traffic Control networks
Critical infrastructure uplinks
SLA-protected telecom systems
1:2 redundancy is ideal when:
Two active carriers must remain online
One shared spare is sufficient
High availability is required with optimized CapEx
