The DTV Innovations Gryphon PVE-5 is a professional HEVC 4K contribution video encoder designed for outside broadcasting, satellite news gathering, live sports and video distribution. It supports one 4K channel or up to four 1080p channels with ultra-low latency of less than one frame.

Gryphon PVE-5 supports HEVC/H.265, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and MPEG-2 compression with 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 chroma sampling and 8-bit or 10-bit processing. It provides configurable DVB-ASI interfaces, up to six Gigabit Ethernet ports, ARQ and SMPTE 2022-1/-2 transport-stream delivery over IP.

Its customizable, software-license-based architecture supports advanced configurations including 4Kp60, multi-channel 1080p60, AAC audio, an internal multiplexer and BISS encryption. An optional DVB-CID-compliant DVB-S/S2/S2X satellite modulator supports IF or L-Band outputs and modulation up to 128APSK.
