ETI RCD-1 to RCD-6 Passive Waveguide Dehydrators
The ETI NETCOM RCD series provides economical, power-free dehydration for small-volume antenna waveguides and coaxial-cable systems. Six passive and self-pumping models are available for indoor, outdoor and molecular-sieve applications.
RCD passive dehydrators contain desiccant in a pressure-tight container connected to the protected system through a 1/8-inch NPT fitting. Moisture reaches the desiccant through gas diffusion, making these models particularly effective when the waveguide or coaxial system is tightly sealed.
The self-pumping RCD-2, RCD-4 and RCD-6 use changes in ambient temperature and barometric pressure to circulate dry air and maintain positive system pressure. A sensitive check valve allows ambient air to enter through the desiccant when system pressure falls below atmospheric pressure and closes when internal pressure rises.
Depending on system volume, sealing and environmental conditions, the desiccant typically provides 12 to 18 months or more of service before regeneration or replacement is required. The color-indicating desiccant allows convenient visual inspection.
