DEV 7415 & DEV 7425 EDFA Optical Amplifier Modules

The DEV 7415 and DEV 7425 EDFA Optribution Amplifier Modules extend DWDM RF over fiber transmission over long optical paths. The DEV 7415 operates as a low-noise optical preamplifier, while the higher-output DEV 7425 functions as a booster amplifier.

Both modules cover 1529-1565 nm and use automatic output power control with 1 dB adjustment steps. The DEV 7415 delivers up to 25 dB gain with adjustable output from 0 to +10 dBm. The DEV 7425 provides up to 23 dB gain and adjustable output as high as 20 dBm.

These hot-swappable modules install in the DEV 7113 Intelligent Optribution Chassis configured with mandatory Option 34. Through the chassis controller, users can monitor optical input and output levels, review alarms and manage the system through the DEV Web Interface or SNMP.

Maximum Gain: 25 dB; typ. 27 dB averaged
Adjustable Output Power: 0-10 dBm
Output Adjustment: 1 dB steps
Saturated Output Power: +10 ±2 dBm at input levels of -15 dBm or higher
Return Loss: Greater than 35 dB
Noise Figure: Less than 5.5 dB; typ. 4.7 dB

DEV 7425 EDFA Booster Amplifier

The DEV 7425 is designed to increase optical launch power before a long fiber span or passive DWDM network.

Amplifier Type: Optical booster amplifier
