DEV 7859 & DEV 7860 Optribution Optical Delay Lines

The DEV 78xx Optribution Optical Delay Line Series provides precise fixed time-delay compensation for RF over fiber systems. Designed primarily for antenna-diversity applications, these passive optical systems equalize signal-arrival times across fiber paths of different lengths.

The DEV 7859 supports specified delays up to 120 µs in a 3 RU chassis, with an optional extension to 240 µs. The larger DEV 7860 provides delays up to 360 µs in 4 RU, extendable to 480 µs. The required delay must be specified when ordering.

Both models operate from 1310 to 1625 nm over single-mode fiber and provide ±1 µs delay accuracy. SC/APC connectors are standard, with FC/APC and E2000/HRL alternatives available.

Optical Attenuation

At 1310 nm: Less than 0.35 dB/km
At 1550 nm: Less than 0.20 dB/km
At 1625 nm: Less than 0.23 dB/km

The stated fiber attenuation excludes connector loss. Add 1 dB for the two optical connectors when calculating total system attenuation.
